In my short time as a soldier and civilian employee in the New Zealand Army, I made many friends.
In 2013 - the year I first started my writing journey - I asked one of my closest Army besties to share her story about failure; failure in the face of wanting to succeed. I thought her story about wanting to become a New Zealand Army Physical Training Instructor would be inspiring and motivating for other women - which it is - but the ending is what throws the reader off entirely...and without spoiling it too much, all I can say is 'sometimes, it happens even to the best of us'.
To my beautiful friend who I admire, adore and most of all love, thank you so much for being a fitness inspiration to many, but most of all, for being my Army sister after all these years.
